In oktober brachten we het fijne nieuws dat it-girl, model en stijlicoon Alexa Chung een stijlboek uit gaat brengen. Sinds toen is het een tijd lang stil geweest rond het boek dat in september uit zal komen, tot vandaag!
Alexa heeft laten weten dat het geen gemakkelijk proces was, maar dat er nu vorm in haar opkomende boek dat door Penguin Books zal worden uitgegeven, begint te komen. "It's good - it's really fun! I had a meeting with them [her publishers] this morning actually. It was a struggle before as I'm so visual. So when I was sending writing to them it was hard as I couldn't envisage it at all," vertelt Alexa. "But then they sent me the proofs of how it will be laid out and we're deciding where to put images and stuff. I literally have cut-outs of pictures I've taken and I get to be like: 'That one goes there'. It's one of my favourite things to do."
Toen in oktober werd aangekodigd dat Alexa Chung een stijlboek zou uitbrengen, was het onduidelijk of het de vorm van een stijlgids of een scrapbook zou krijgen. Alexa geeft toe dat dit haar eigen schuld was."It's because I didn't know what I was doing! That's the problem when people release it to press before you've written a word," legt de stylish Britse brunette uit. "I'm writing, I'm drawing and I'm taking photographs. It's definitely not an autobiography, but it's me writing so in a way it probably will have that element."
En het lijkt erop dat de stijlvolle duizendpoot een nieuw talent heeft ontdekt bij het produceren van het boek. "Drawing is probably the main, number one thing I can do - that I'm best at," she revealed. "It makes sense, if I can get dressed well then that's what I'm good at: visuals. Putting things next to things," aldus Alexa Chung.
Het stijlboek van Alexa Chung zal naar verwachting in september uitgebracht worden door uitgeverij Penguin Books.
