Deze Instagrammer verandert striae in prachtige kunstwerkjes

Over het algemeen wordt striae niet gezien als een schoonheidsideaal of iets waar we trots op moeten zijn. Vreemd want er zijn maar weinig vrouwen die ongehavend een groeispurt doorkomen: of het nou tijdens de pubertijd is gebeurt of tijdens je zwangerschap. Bijna iedere vrouw heeft er mee te maken en het is dus eigenlijk niets om je voor te schamen.

De Pakistaanse kunstenares Sara had het doel om ervoor te zorgen dat vrouwen hun eigen lichaam inclusief striae zouden omarmen en daarom bedacht zij om deze ‘tijgerstrepen’ te versieren met glitters. Via haar instagrampagina deelt zij prachtige foto’s waarbij de striae is ondergedompelt in glimmers.

I have never felt so powerful & liberated and so fucking proud of mystretch marks in my entire life !!! Thank you everyone for the #glitterstretchmarks response and the numerous features of my artwork! The past few days have been unreal! Good and bad, but tbh I shall always look at the good side because nothing is more powerful then giving confidence to myself along with so many women and men out there!
