Blijkbaar heeft Nicola Formichetti het drukker gekregen na zijn switch van Mugler naar Diesel, want hij heeft geen tijd meer om Mother Monster te helpen met haar outfits. De stylist vertelt aan WWD: "She's going to be my BFF forever, but my ex-assistant Brandon is heading that project. I'm too busy with [other commitments]. I've done two albums with her, it's been like five years, and you know, I'm always going to be involved somehow, but I cannot do it every day. She changes 12 times a day; it's insane."
Brandon Maxwell was in 2009 in Haus of Gaga opgenomen als Nicola's stylist en neemt nu de styling van de zangeres op zich. Is dit ook meteen een verklaring voor de rustigere look van Gaga? Op de foto voor V Magazine die onlangs uitkwam, zien we een natural en naakte Lady Gaga, maar ook de selfie die ze op Twitter plaatste(zie hieronder) is hartstikke minimalistisch met zwart haar en gebleekte wenkbrauwen. Brandon Maxwell vertelt: “I think that this time it is about letting some of it go and the focus being on the music because now she’s comfortable being naked and being who she is. The world has seen everything. It’s more toned down and pulled back and chic. It’s also that we’re making suits out of things that they would not normally be made out of, like plastic, but they’re super well-tailored and clean."
